INSERVICE TEST PROGRAM - GENERIC LETTER 89-04 (TAC NOS. 74790/74791)
RE:
SALEM GENERATING STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 By letter dated January 11, 1990 Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) requested an extension to February 15, 1990, to complete the procedure revisions associated with full stroke tests of power operated valves. This schedule extension is approved.
PSE&G's October 3, 1989 submittal of the Salem 1 & 2 inservice test (IST) program included a listing of all relief requests. Generic Letter 89-04 (GL 89-04) approved all relief requests that were submitted prior to April 3, 1989, and that were not covered by the positions in Attachment 1 to GL 89-04.
NRC review and approval is only required for relief that was requested in the October 3, 1989, submittal that was not in the June 24, 1987, submittal or not in conformance with the positions provided in Attachment 1 to GL 89-04.
Based on this guidance, it is reouested that PSE&G provide a list of those relief requests that were previously provided and not covered by the positions in GL 89-04, a list of relief requests in conformance with the generic letter and therefore approved, and a list of relief requests still requiring review and approval.
Your response to the above is requested within 30 days of the receipt of this letter.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511 9002010102 900119 F~DR ADOCK 05000272 PDC cc:
