~MERGENCY CORE COOLING SYSTEMS SURVE!LLANCE REQUIREMENTS (Continued)

f.

By verifying that each of the following PU111?S develops the indicated

-discharge pressure on recirculation flow when tested pursuant to Specification 4.0.S:

1.

Centrifugal charging pump

2.

Safety Injection pump

3.

Residual heat removal pump

~ 2400 psig

~ 1425 psig

~ 165 psig

g.

.By verifying the correct position of each of the following ECCS throttle valves:

1.

Within 4 hours4.62963e-5 days
0.00111 hours
6.613757e-6 weeks
1.522e-6 months
following completion of each valve stroking operation or maintenance on the valve when the ECCS subsystems are required to be OPERABLE.

2.

At least once per 18 months.

completion of modifications to the ECCS subsystems that 1lt1r the subsystem flow characteristics and verifying that:*

1.

For safety injection lines, with a. single pump runnin'g:

1) b)

The sum of the injection lint flow ratis, axcluding the 1i ne with the highest fl ow rate, f s ?. 463 gpm, -and Th; total pump flat# r1t1 11 < 650 gpm.

2.

For c1ntrffugal charging pump lines, with a single pump SALEM - UNIT 2 running:

1)

The sum of the injection line flow ratas, excluding th*

line with the highest flow rate, is ~ 346 gpm, and b)

The to ta 1 pump f1 aw rate is ~ 550 gpm. * :#::

i. The automatic isolation and interlock function of the RHR System *shall be verified within the seven (7) days prior to placing the RHR System in service for cooling of the Reactor Coolant System. This shall be done by verifying that valves RHl and RH2 close upon insertion of a test signal corresponding to a reactor coolant pressure of 580 psig or less, and that, with a test signal corresponding to a reactor coolant pressure of 580 psig or greater, that the valves cannot be opened~

The maximum limit (i.e. i550 gpm) on ECCS Centrifugal Charging

~ump Flow is waived on a one time basis for the period commencing January 4, 1990 and ending upon initial entry into Mode 5 during the Unit 2_. 5th Refueling Outage.
