RE:
SALEM GENERATING STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 The staff has reviewed your letter dated August 28, 1989 that provides your rationale for not performing surveillance testing of the auxiliary feedwater pumps every 31 days on a staggered basis, as recommended by Generic Letter 83-37.
Because all auxiliary feedwater pumps are being tested every 31 days, the staff finds this acceptable.
