UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION PUBLIC SERVICE ELECTRIC AND GAS COMPANY DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATION FOR AMENC'lMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE 7590-01 The United States Nuclear Regulatory Co111T1ission (the Cormiission) has granted the request of Public Service Electric and Gas Company (the licensee) to withdraw its November 199 1985 (LCR 84-23) application for proposed amendments to Facility Operating Licenses Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75 for the Salem Generating Station, llnits Nos. 1 and 2, located in Salem County, New llersey.

The amendment requested deletion of Appendix 8, the Environmental Technical Specifications (ETS), and the substitution of an Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) for the ETS.

The Contnission issued a Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment to Facil..ity Operating License and Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Detennination and Opportunity for Hearing which was published in thP. Federal Register on July 2, 1986 (51 FR 24261).

For further details with respect to this action, see the application for amendment dated November 19, 1985 (LCR 84-23) and the licensee's letter dated December 9, 1988 withdrawing the application for license amendment.
