This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. P. W. Eselgroth
of this office from November 30, 1987 to December 4, 1987 at Salem Nuclear
Generating Station, Hancock
1 s Bridge, New Jersey of activities authorized by
NRC License Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75 and to the discussions of our findings held
by Mr. Eselgroth with- Messrs S.E. Miltenberger and J. T. Boettger of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
