Safety Evaluation Report For Generic Letter 83-28, Item 4.5.2 (Reactor Trip System Reliability-On-Line Testing) For Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Public Service Electric and Gas Company, the licensee, was required by Generic Letter 83-28, Item 4.5.2 to confirm that Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 are designed to permit periodic on-line testing of the Reactor Trip System and, if not, to justify not making modifications to permit such testing. The licensee response stated that the units are designed to permit the required periodic on-line testing. The staff has reviewed the response, and found it acceptable.
The enclosed SER documents our concurrence that the licensee's response for this item is acceptable.
We therefore con-sider Item 4.5.2 to be closed by this action.
