Combined Inspection~and 50-311/86-34
This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. T. Kenny and
Mrs. K. Gibson, of this office, on October 28, 1986 to November 24, 1986,
at the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey.
The
inspection consisted of document reviews, interviews, and observation of
activities.
The findings were discussed with Mr. J. M. Zupko, Jr. of your
staff. *
Within the scope of this inspection no violations were observed .
During this inspection period on November 11, 1986, a meeting was held with
you and your staff in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania pertaining to the correc-
tive actions taken to prevent events similar to the false loss of offsite power
event that occurred on August 26, 1986.
In addition, a meeting was held on
December 5, 1986, to further discuss your interim and long term corrective
actions for this concern.
A summary of these meetings is included in the
attached report.
