Dear Mr. McNeill:
Enclosed for your information is a trip report describing the status of Salem's plant maintenance program. A site visit was made as part of the NRC 1s Survey and Evaluation of Maintenance Effectiveness Project for the purpose of collecting description data on the effects and costs of the changes in the Salem Preventive Maintenance programs mandated by NRC as a result of the ATWS events at Salem in 1983.
The site survey was conducted the week of October 28, 1985 by a team of two NRC and three Pacific Northwest Laboratory staff.
A response is not required unless a factual error is identified.
