Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50-272~ and 50-311/85-21
This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. R. J. Bailey
of this office on August 19-23, 1985 of activities authorized by NRC License
Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75 at the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Hancocks
Bridge, New Jersey and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Bailey
with Mr. P. Moeller of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this*inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you had taken to address items 5, 6, 8
and 10 identified in our letter dated August 12, 1985.
We have no further
questions regarding your action at this time.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
Portions of Attachment 1 to the enclosed inspection report contain details
of your security program that have been determined to be exempt from public
disclosure in accordance with either 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Information) or
10 CFR 9.5(a)(4) (Commercial or Financial Information).
Therefore, the
portions so identified in the attachment to the inspection report will not be
placed in the NRC Public Document Room and will receive limited distribution.
The inspection report cover sheet and the remaining portions of the inspection
report and the attachment will be placed in the Public Document Room, in
accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a).
