During our review of the missing fragments of the video camera tsY reactor coolant system at Salem No. 1 we requested assistance from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
An ORNL acoustical surveillance team was at the Salem site during June 24-26, 1981 to perfonn indepen-dent measurements.
During this visit the ORNL team members had the opportunity to discuss, with Messers. Randy Ripple and Steve lane of Westinghouse~ the acoustical recording of intermittent impact noises made earlier by Westinghouse.
We believB that the ORNL analysis of their own measurements would be greatly 15erief,ited if> this tape, and any,i,nterpretation made by Hesting-house, could be made available to the ORNL team for approxiamtely 30 days.
I, therefore, seek your assistance in soliciting such a loan from Westinghouse.
If Hestinghouse is in agreement with our request they should send the or1*~ji;rial tape, and whatever analysis of the noises that are available to:
