- 1. 0 PURPOSE SURVEILLANCE PROCEDURE PLANT SYSTEMS -
AUXILIARY FEEDWATER UNIT NO. 1 SP (0) 4. 7.1. 2 (b) 1.1 To verify No. 11 and No. 12 Auxiliary Feedwater (AFW) pumps start upon receipt of
~ither a loss of both Main Feedwater Pumps or a Stearn Generator Low-Low water level signal.
1.2 To verify No. 13 Auxiliary Feedwater Pump's throttle valve opens upon receipt of either a loss of offsite (4kV Group Bus) power or two Stearn Generator;Low-Low water level signals.
1.3 To verify prope~ operation of Automatic Valves in 11 and 12 Aux. Feedwater Pump flow paths at pump discharge pressure of 1100 psig.
2.0 INITIAL CONDITIONS 2.1 The unit is in operational Mode 3, 4, 5 or 6.
2.2 The Auxiliary Feedwater Storage Tank is operable.
2.3 Functional tests are not being conducted on either Train "A" or "B" Output Test and Interface cabinet.
2.4 All steps of this procedure are to be completed in sequence.
However, initial con-ditions may be completed in any order.
2.5 None of the three AFW pumps are concurrently in use.
2.6 The valves listed on Check Off Sheet 4.1 are in their NORMAL positions.

- 3. 0 PRECAUTIONS 3.1 Do not operate any AFW pump without a suction or discharge flow path~
.. 4. 0 CHECK OFF SHEETS 4.1 AFW Valve Lineup 4.2 Output Test and Interface Cabinet Test Switches.
- 5. 0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Once per 18 MONTHS, determine the AFW pumps operable by performing Sections 5.2 thru 5.4.

- 5.3 Train "A" -
Output Test and Interface Cabinet Test Section.
5.3.l Open both front interface cabinet doors and verify the following:
l)
All of the test switches are in the UNBLOCK OUTPUT position.
- 2)
Control Room receipt of the SOLID STATE PROTECTION SYSTEM TRAIN "A" ON
~ TEST annunciator.
5.3.2 Test the internal test assembly as follows:
- 1)
Depress and then release the TL/TXC indicator.
The r.ed light will illumi-nate and then extinguish.
- 2)
Insert the meter test lead into the TEST JACK METER TEST jacks.
- 3)
Place the range switch in the lV position.
- 4)
Depress the METER TEST pushbutton.
The meter should indicate approximately full scale deflection.
- 5)
Remove the meter jack lead from the TEST JACK METER TEST jacks
- NOTE All subsequent Section 5.2 steps are used with reference to Check Off Sheet 4.2 (Train "A" Section).
5.3.3 Utilizing TS632, follow Steps of Table 4.7.l.2(b)-l.
5.3.4 Utilizin~ TS633, follow Steps of Talbe 4.7.l.2(b)-l 5.3.5 Utilizing TS634, follow Steps of Table 4.7.l.2(b)-l 5.4 Train "B" - Output Test and Interface Cabinet.Test Section 5.4.l Open both front interface cabinet doors and verify the following:

5.4.4 Utilizing TS633, follow Steps of Table 4.7.l.2(b)-l 5.4.5 Utilizing TS634, follow Steps of Table 4.7.l.2(b)-l 5.5 AFW Pump Operational Section
~~~~- 5.5.l Depress the START bezel for No. 13 Auxiliary Feed Pump.

Verify illumination of the red START bezel.
- 2)
Test results DSAT DUNSAT
~~~~- 5.5.2 Depress the STOP bezel for No. 13 Auxiliary Feed Pump.
~~~~- 5.5.3 Verify 11, 12, 13, 14AF21 closed.

~~~~- 5.5.4 Adjust demand for 11, 12, 13, 14AF21 Valves to 100%.
NOTE The starting of No. 11 & 12 AFW Pumps with a 100%
Demand on AF21 valves will add water to Steam Generators.
Monitor Steam Generator level and AF21 Valve position to minimize water addition to Steam Generators.
5.5.5 Simultaneously, depress No. 11 and No. 12 Main Feedwater Pump EMERGENCY TRIP pushbuttons (located on test panel on side of Main Feedwater Pumps).

Verify the starting of No. 11. and No. 12 AFW Pumps.

Verify level control valves are opening when pump discharge pressure reaches approximately 1100 psig.

SAT D UNSAT 5.5.6 Depress the STOP bezels for both No. 11 and No. 12 AFW Pumps.
5.5.7 Verify 11, 12, 13, 14AF21 Shut.
5.6 This surveillance shall be acceptable if all feedwater pump control circuitry function IAW Table 4.7.l.2(b)-l for both Train A, Train B, and that both Auxi~iary Feedwater pumps start, attain a discharge pressure > 1100 psig and level control valves open.

- This test sequences a series of relays, such that the slave relay is energized, yet the output functions of the slave relay remain unchanged.
Perform the following steps, in the order given, utilizing the designated test switch.
Al)
Turn TS to the BLOCK OUTPUT position.
Verify and record on Check Off Sheet 4.2 the follow-ing alarms:
a)
TL/TXC Alarm b)
Aux Alarm Safety Equipment Train BLOCKED.
A2)
Perform the followin~ initial checks, recording the results in the BLOCK OUTPUT section associated with the test switch being operated: -Record on* Check Off Sheet 4. 2 a)
Depress J:.he test lights associated* with the test switch operated in Step Al) above.
The test lights should.not energize.
Record results on Check Off Sheet 4.2.
NOTE If the test light illuminates do not proceed with test.
Contact the Performance Department and request they in-vestigate the malfunction.
Insert the meter test lead i~to the test jacks associated with test switch operated in Step lA) above.
The test meter should indicate approximately 1/2 full scale de-flection.
Record test meter indication on Check Off Sheet 4.2.
A3)
Turn TS to the OPERATE OUTPUT position.
Record the test light illumination in the OPERATE OUTPUT section.
A4)
Record the test mete~~indication for each of the test jacks in the OPERATE OUTPUT section.
AS)
TUR.~ TS to the RESET OUTPUT position.
Record the test lights de-energization and that all test meter readings return to those values,recorded in Step A2).
A6)
Turn TS to the UNBLOCK OUTPUT position.
The following alarms will reset:
Record on Check Off Sheet 4.2.
TL/TXC Alarm a) b)
Aux Alarm Safety Equipment Train BLOCKED.

SURVEILLANCE PROCEDURE PLANT SYSTEMS -

1.0 PURPOSE l.l Demonstrate the No. 13 Auxiliary Feedwater Pump operable during Modes (1) thru (3).
1.2 Demonstrate the Auxiliary Feedwater flow paths operable during Modes (1) thru (3).
2.0 INITIAL CONDITIONS 2.1 Steam pressure is > 750 psig (Tavg ~ 512°F), when operating No. 13 Auxiliary Feedwater pump.
2.2 The Auxiliary Feedwater Sturage Tank > 200,000 gals.
2.3 Check Off Sheet 4.2 of OI III-10.3.1, "Auxiliary Feedwater System Operation",.is satisfactorily completed.
2.4 Steam Generator level is > 10% < 67% and 11 & 12 AF Pumps are operable.
- 3. 0 PRECAUTIONS
~
3.1 Do not operate any AFW Pump without a suction or discharge flow path.
3.2 If within 30 minutes after a shutdown of No. 13 AFW Pump, it is desired to restart the pump, exercise the manual speed changer to minimum and then reset to desired speed.
3.3 Flow to a Steam Generator must be limited to < l x 10 5 LBM/hr. (200 gpm) when the following conditions exist in that Steam Generator:

Level has been <10% for more than 5 minutes, and,
- 2)
No feed flow (Main or Aux) to that Steam Generator for more than *5 minutes.

4.1 AFW Valve Lineup 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Once per 31 DAYS, verify No. 13 Auxiliary Feedwater Pump operable, including the water flow path, by performing Section 5.2 and 5.3.
5.2 Auxiliary Feedwater Pump Test

5.2.3 Start No. 13 AFW Pump, and increase speed to obtain > 1500 psig discharge pres-sure.
5.2.4 Record data required, except operating time.

Minimum acceptable > 750 psig.

Minimum acceptable> 1500 psig.for No.13 AFW Pump.
5.2.5 Stop pump.
Return system to normal lineup and record the time No. 13 AFW.
Pump was stopped.
5.2.6 Decrease Speed Demand to minimum.
5.2.7 Verify that 1MS52 TUrbine Trip valve is not tripped by checking locally that the valve is reset.
5.2.B After the turbine is shut down, momentarily exercise manual speed changer to minimum speed setting.
5.2.9 Reset speed changer to desired speed setting and record speed to which reset, 5.3 Auxiliary Feedwater Valves f
5.3.1 Record the position of each valve listed on Check Off Sheet 4.1.
These posi-tions must match those under the NORMAL POSITION column.
5.4 This surveillance shall be acceptable if No. 13 AFW pump operation is IAW limits of step 5.2.3 and all valves listed on Check ot:f Sheet 4.1 are positioned IAW step 5.3.1.
