SUBJECT:

ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW REGARDING TRAVELER TSTF-569, REVISE RESPONSE TIME TESTING DEFINITION (EPID L-2018-PMP-0002)

Dear Members of the Technical Specifications Task Force:

By letter dated February 8, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18039A003), you submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) a request to incorporate Traveler TSTF-569, Revise Response Time Testing Definition, into the standard technical specifications.

Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that Travelers are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours have been billed accordingly. The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 330 staff hours including project management time.

The NRC staff has completed a preliminary review of your submission and determined it is sufficiently complete and appropriate to initiate a more comprehensive review. The review will generally follow the schedule below.

MILESTONE SCHEDULE DATE Issue Request for Additional Information May 23, 2018 Issue Draft Safety Evaluation November 5, 2018 Issue Final Safety Evaluation February 8, 2019 The dates are provided for draft and final safety evaluations (SEs) have been expedited at your request. In order to meet these dates the TSTF will need to respond to RAIs in 30 days and provide comments to the draft SE in 15 days. If you have any questions, please contact me at (301) 415-1774 or via e-mail to Michelle.Honcharik@nrc.gov.
