SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR JANUARY 1990 Palisades began the month of January with reactor power being maintained at 80%.
On January 8 a power decrease to 35% was initiated for main condenser tube leak repair and water box cleaning.
With reactor power at 35% and stable, a manual reactor trip was initiated on January 9 at 0512 hours0.00593 days
0.142 hours
8.465608e-4 weeks
1.94816e-4 months
due to the loss of 'A' train main feed pump (PlA) (reference Palisades Licensee Event Report LER 90001).
Palisades returned to critical on January 10 at 1310 hours0.0152 days
0.364 hours
0.00217 weeks
4.98455e-4 months
and was on line January 11 at 0223 hours0.00258 days
0.0619 hours
3.687169e-4 weeks
8.48515e-5 months
.
Reactor power reached 35% that same day and after successful completion of main condenser work was escalated to achieve 80%
late January 12.
Reactor power was maintained at 80% for the remainder of the month.
