NOTICE OF VIOLATION Consumers Power Company Docket N~. 50-255 As a result of the inspection conducted on March 4 through April 15, 1986, and in accordance with the 11General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement
- Actions, 11 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 6.8.1.f requires the implementation of procedures covering the Site Fire Protection Program.
Fire Protection Implementing Procedure (FPIP) No. 7, Section 9.2 sets forth requirements for training of fire watches and their duties and responsibilities which include being present during hot work.
Contrary to the above, on April 1, 1986, at approximately 8:00 a.m., grinding was observed, an activity for which a 11 Hot Work Permit 11 had been obtained, without having a fire watch present.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement I).
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence.
Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter at this time.
