PROPOSED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND EXEMPTION REQUESTS RELATED TO APPENDIX J (TAC 54152)
The enclosed Safety Evaluation provides the documentation of our review of your submittals containing proposed Technical Specifications and exemption requests related to Appendix J.
The dates of your submittals are November 1, 1983, August 27, 1984 and November 13, 1985.
F As indicated in the Safety Evaluation, we have determined that exemptions are not required in certain cases and that exemptions are not granted in others.
None of your proposed exemption requests is granted.
One exemption request (liquid poison) was withdrawn by you in a letter dated November 11, 1985.
The Safety Evaluation also provides an evaluation of the proposed Technical Specifi-cations.
An amendment is not being issued at this time because the proposed Technical Specifications, if issued, would not blend with the existing Technical Specifications.
Also, there were several Technical Specifications that we found unacceptable, thereby requiring revisions to the proposed Technical Specifications.'ou are requested to provide revised proposed Technical Specifications within 30 days of receipt of this letter.
Several of these needed
- changes, have been discussed with Mr. Pete Francisco of your staff.
