Acceptance for review 2018 North Butte Financial Assurance UpdateLarry and Vickie - We've received your letter dated January 22, 2018, which contains the 2018 financial assurance update for the North Butte remote satellite facility to the Smith Ranch Highland operation. The submittal is in the process of being added to ADAMS. Note that the NRC staff's time associated with this review will be tracked under EPID L-2018-DFA-0002. The NRC staff has completed its acceptance review of the submittal and has found the financial assurance update acceptable for detailed technical review. Note that the detailed technical review may identify omissions
in the submittal information or technical issues that require additional information. Please include the EPID number referenced above as well as the docket number (40-8964) on future correspondence related to this review. As the January 22, 2018 submittal is acceptable for review, the NRC staff is subsuming the review of the 2017-2018 financial assurance update for the North Butte remote satellite in this review and is closing the CAC/EPID associated with the 2017-2018 review (CAC L00835/EPID L-2017-DFA-0010). In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of NRC's "Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of ADAMS.
