Pursuant to 10 CFR 52.99(c)(3), Southern NuclearOperating Company hereby notifies the NRC that as ofJanuary 18, 2018, Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Unit 3 and Unit 4 Uncompleted Inspections, Tests, Analyses, and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) Item 2.3.29.01 [Index Number488] has not been completed greater than 225-days prior to initial fuel load. The Enclosure describes the planfor completing this ITAAC. Southern Nuclear Operating Companywill, at a later date, provide additional notifications for ITAAC that have not been completed 225-days prior to initial fuel load.
Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) previously submitted, via letter ND-16-2161
[ML16314C746], a Unit 3 Notice of Uncompleted ITAAC 225-days Prior to Initial Fuel Load for Item 2.3.29.01 [Index Number488]. This resubmittal supersedes the previous Unit 3 notice in its entirety.
This notification is informed by the guidance described in NEI 08-01, Industry Guidelinefor the ITAAC Closure Process Under 10 CFR Part 52, which was endorsed by the NRC in Regulatory Guide 1.215. In accordance with NEI 08-01, this notification includes ITAAC for which required inspections, tests, or analyses have not been performed or have been only partially completed. All ITAAC will be fully completedand all Section 52.99(c)(1) ITAAC Closure Notifications will be submitted to NRC to support the Commission finding that all acceptance criteria are met prior to plant operation, as required by 10 CFR 52.103(g).
This letter contains no new NRC regulatory commitments.

- 1. The functional arrangement of the WRS is as described in the Design Description of this Section 2.3.29.
Insoections/Tests/Analvses Inspection of the as-built system will be performed.
Acceptance Criteria The as-built WRS conforms with the functional arrangement as described in the Design Description of this Section 2.3.29.
ITAAC Completion Description An inspection ofthe as-built radioactive waste drainsystem (WRS) is conducted aftercompletion of construction to confirmthat the functional arrangement of the WRS is as described in the Design Description of Combined License (COL) Appendix C, Section 2.3.29. This inspection encompasses the structures, systems, and components(SSCs) identified in the COL Appendix C, Section 2.3.29 Design Description, including those in Figure 2.3.29-1.
The inspection (walkdown) is completed in accordance with APP-GW-ITY-004, Functional Arrangement ITAAC Guideline (Reference1),which requiresthe preparation ofa detailed inspection plan. This inspection plan includes the use ofdetailed drawings such as Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) or Single Line Elementary Drawings to perform visual observations and compare the as-built system to the Design Description.
Theinspection results are documented in the Unit 3 and Unit 4 Principal Closure Documents XXX and YYY (References 2 and 3, respectively) supporting the Unit 3 and Unit 4 ITAAC 2.3.29.01 Completion Packages(References 4 and 5, respectively) and verify thatthe SSCs are physically arranged and located to perform thefunctions described in the Design Description and referenced figure. Theinspection results confirm thatthe as-built WRS conforms with thefunctional arrangementas described inthe COL Appendix C, Section2.3.29, Design Description.
The Unit 3 and Unit 4 Principal Closure Documents XXX and YYY are available for NRC inspection as part ofthe Unit 3 and Unit 4 ITAAC 2.3.29.01 Completion Packages.
List of ITAAC Findings In accordance with plant proceduresfor ITAAC completion. Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) performed a review ofall findings pertaining tothe subject ITAAC and associatedcorrective actions. This reviewfound there are no relevant ITAAC findings associated withthis ITAAC.
