by

At the conclusion

of the inspection,

the findings were discussed

with those

members of your staff identified in the enclosed

inspection report.

Areas

examined

during the inspection

are identified in the report.

Within these

areas,

the

inspection

consisted

of selective

examinations

of procedures

representative

records,

interviews with personnel,

and observation of activities

in progress.

The inspection findings indicate that certain activities violated

NRC require-. =

ments.

The violations, with pertinent

to be included

in your response,

are presented

in the enclosed

Notice.

The apparent violation described

in paragraph

is under

consideration

for escalated

enforcement

action.

Accordingly,

no Notice of

issued

at this time.

Please

provide this office with your

evaluation

of the safety significance

and diesel

operability impact

associated

with the failure to perform vendor-recommended

maintenance

and with

the

use of improper battery rack anchor studs.

Your evaluation report will be

considered

in determining

any enforcement

action.

However,

please

be advised

that the

number

of the violations described

in the enclosed

as

a result of further

NRC review.

Violation 1.d. in the enclosed

notice is similar to

These matters will be pursued

during future inspections.

In accordance
