Enclosed is our response to R, C. Lewis'arch 2, 1979, letter RII:DSP 50-259/79-3, 50-260/79-3, and 50-296/79-3, concerning an activity at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant which appeared to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements.

We have reviewed the above inspection report and find no proprietary information in it.

'""DATED MARCH 2) 1979 PIHDING As required by 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B) Criterion XI, test results shall be documented and evaluated to assure that test requirements have been satisfied.

Contrary to the above, for unit 1, surveillance testing performed on the standby liquid control system on December 20, 1978, was not in accordance with the provisions of facility Operational Quality Assurance Manual, Part II, Section 4.5.5 in that test data was not properly recorded on the data sheets provided in the surveillance instructions.

This is a deficiency.

RESPONSE

Corrective Ste s Taken and Results Achieved Test data was not properly recorded on the data sheet for SI 4.4.A.2 due to personnel error.

The instruction was not written plainly.

The surveillance instruction was revised, and PORC approved it on February 27, 1979.

Full compliance has been achieved.
