OPERATIONS Gentlemen:
On January 4, 1988, Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) requested a
revision to the Technical Specifications for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP).
The proposed change will revise the Technical Specification 6.2 requirement that the Manager
- Operations hold a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license.
Subsequent to the Company's January 4,
1988 license amendment
- request, Amendment 3 to the SHNPP Technical Specifications was issued.
This amendment replaced the organizational charts in the Technical Specifications with more general organizational requirements and affected the section dealing with the Manager
- Operations.
Enclosure 1
is the Amendment No.
3 SHNPP Technical Specification page revised to reflect CP&L's January 4,
1988 license amendment request.
This letter does not in any way alter the Technical Specification change proposed in the January 4,
1988 submittal and prenoticed in the Federal Register on March 9, 1988 (46FR7587).
The required license amendment application fee has been submitted by the previous correspondence.
