Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DOCKET NO. 50-400/LICENSE NO. NPF-63 SUPPLEMENT TO REQUEST FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT DELETION OF ORGANIZATION CHARTS Gentlemen:
On June 12, 1987, Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) requested a revision to the Technical Specifications (TS) for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP).
The proposed change deleted the organization charts from the Technical Specifications.
During recent telephone conversations with the
- Staff, CP&L agreed to submit a revised amendment request.
The purpose of the revision is to:
(1) include TS 6.2.1, which was deleted in the Company s
original submittal; and (2) expand TS 6.2.2 to specifying the required operator licenses for the Manager - Operations and the Operations Supervisor which currently exist in TS Table 6.2-2.
The enclosed TS pages incorporate these revisions and supersede the TS pages provided in the June 12, 1987 submittal.
Carolina Power
& Light Company has reviewed the enclosed revision and determined that it is more conservative than the previous version.
As such, the Significant Hazards Analysis provided in the June 12, 1987 submittal encompasses this version and, therefore, remains valid.
This analysis was previously published in the Federal Register on August 26, 1987 (FR 32195, Vol. 52, No. 165).
The Company has evaluated this request in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 170.12 and determined that a license amendment application fee is not required.
This request supplements our June 12, 1987 license amendment request which included the application fee.

Carolina Power 6 Light Company believes that maintaining a valid SRO license is not necessary to fulfillthe obligations of the Manager Operations.
Therefore, the Company is submitting a separate license amendment request to revise this requirement.
