Dear Mr. Denton:
Carolina Power t~r. Light Company (CPdcL) hereby submits Amendment No. 33 of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR). This amendment formally incorporates revisions to FSAR Table 3.9.3-13, NSSS Supplied Active Class 1, 2, and 3 Valves and FSAR Table 3.9.3-10, Non-NSSS Supplied Class 1, 2, and 3 Active Valves.
This information is being submitted in response to the staff's information request in Safety Evaluation Report, NUREG-1038, Supplement No. 3, Section 3.10.1, Operability Qualifications of Mechanical Equipment as part of the pump and valve operability review.
These revisions were previously submitted in draft form via the referenced letter.
However, minor changes were made in order to produce a final version for incorporation into the FSAR.
These changes are as follows: valves 2RH-V507SAl and 2RH-V506SB (page 3.9.3-29) are deleted.to eliminate redundancy.
These valves are listed on page 3.9.3-27.
The functions of valves 2BD-P85B-1 and 2BD-V85B-1 (pages 3.9.3-00 and 01) are revised to reflect that they are isolation valves but do not fit containment isolation criteria.
Valves 3SW-8 ISA, 3SW-B2SA, 3SW-B3SA, and 3SW-BOSA (Pages 3.9.3-08 and 09) are deleted to reflect design changes to the Emergency Service Water Intake Structure.
The name of the manufacturer of valve 2FP-BISA (page 3.9.3-55) is revised to correct a typographical error.
The functions of valves 2CB-VlSA and 2CB-V2SA (page 3.9.3-59g) are revised to reflect their dual function as containment isolation valves.
Each page bears the amendment number and technical changes are indicated by vertical bars in the margin. Instructions for entering the revised pages are included.
