Dear Mr. Denton:

Carolina Power R Light Company (CPRL) hereby submits a revision to the SHNPP ~

Control Room Design Review (CRDR) Final Summary Report. This revision is in response to concerns expressed in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) draft "Technical Evaluation Report (TER) of the Detailed Control Room Design Review,"

dated November 0, 1985 and discussions held with members of the NRC on December 20, 1985 and March 18-19, 1986.

'I provides the revised sections of the SHNPP CRDR Final Summary Report, which includes the relevant information required to complete the staff's review of the SHNPP CRDR program. Each revised section is paginated such that it directly replaces the corresponding sections contained in the SHNPP CRDR Final Summary Report submitted to you on September 13, 1985. Each report section contained in Enclosure 1 has been expanded to include the additional information requested in the draft TER and by discussions with the NRC. This additional material will enable the NRC and LLNL reviewers to adequately assess the development and implementation of the SHNPP CRDR Program and the results obtained from the review process. presents those HEDs listed in the draft TER as not containing adequate information for the NRC to perform a thorough review of the HED disposition. For these HEDs, the "Title" and/or "Disposition" descriptions have been expanded to provide the additional information requested. Please note that Enclosure 2 is not a revision to the SHNPP CRDR Final Summary Report, Appendix A, but provides additional information only.
