1 - DOCKET NO.50-000 PRESERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM

Dear Mr. Denton:

Carolina Power R Light Company (CPRL) hereby submits additional information concerning the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) Preservice Inspection Program (Procedure ISI-201). The Preservice Inspection Program, submitted by letter dated March 5, 1985, contained a typographical omission in Appendix D, "Augmented Components Inspection Plan Summary."

In response to Safety, Evaluation Report Open Item 6, CPRL was required to perform an ultrasonic examination on a representative sample of pipe welds excepted by ASME Section XI, paragraph IWC 1220 in the SHNPP Emergency Core Cooling System, the Containment Heat Removal System, and the Residual Heat Removal System.

CPRL willperform a volumetric inspection on the applicable lines referenced in Appendix D of the Preservice Inspection Program with the addition of line numbers 2CT8-10 and 2CT8-15.

These lines are presently being examined.

These two additional lines and the corrected examination method willbe incorporated into the next revision of Procedure ISI-201.
