Carolina Power & Light Company (CPSL) hereby clarifies that the request for extension of the construction permit for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (Reference 1) is in support of the construction schedule reported in the latest construction status report (Reference 2).

This request in Reference 1 is consistent with the construction schedule shown in Reference 2. Carolina Power 6 Light Company remains firmly committed to a fuel load date of June, 1985.
