Carolina Power

& Light Company (CP&L) has completed an in-depth comparison of the SHNPP post-accident monitoring instrumentation and is in strict compliance with the exception of 24 items.

Of these 24 items, 16 are technically defensible and clearly meet the intent of the Regulatory Guide.

The remaining 8 items are still under review.

All items willbe addressed in detail in CP&L's August 31st submittal.

This is in response to CP&L Open Item No. 223, Regulatory Guide 1.97 position, Instrumentation and Control Systems Branch.
