Dear Mr. Denton:

On September 22, 1980, Carolina Power

& Light Company (CP&L) submitted its Management Capability Report describing CP&L's qualifi-cations to operate the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) in a safe and reliable manner.

Since that submittal, several changes to CP&L's corporate structure have occurred.

In order to keep you updated, CP&L is hereby submitting a revised Management Capability Report which describes in detail the new organization.

In addition, these changes will be reflected in the first amendment to the SHNPP Final Safety Analysis Report.
