APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Carolina Power and Light Company Shearon Harris Unit 1 Docket No. 50-400 License No. CPPR-158 As a resul.t of the inspection conducted on December 29, 1980 through January 30,
- 1981, and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement
- Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7, 1980), the following violation was identified.
10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion V as implemented by PSAR Section 1.8.5.5 and CP&L's Corporate gA Program Part I, Section 8.2. 1 requires that con-struction activities affecting quality be prescribed in drawings, specifica-tions, procedures and instructions.
Contrary to the above, Class 1E electrical conduit box numbered B1482-SB was installed without the use of an appropriate installation drawing, specifica-tion, procedure or instruction.
On January 6,
1981 conduit box B1482-SB was found to be installed in a configuration which was not prescribed by a documented installation drawing, specification, procedure or instruction.
This is a Severity Level V Violation (Supplement II.E).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, is hereby required to submit to this office within twenty-five days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) admission or denial of, the alleged viola-tion(s); (2) the reasons for the violation(s) if admitted;,(3) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (4) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (5) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Under the authority of Section 182 of the Atomic Energy Act of
- 1954, as amended, this response shall be submitted under oath or affirmation.'EH f2 1981 Date.
