Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
As requested by IE Bulletin 80-23, Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) has reviewed the design of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) to determine if Valcor solenoid valves having P/N's V70900-21-1 or -3 are planned for use.
No purchase orders have been placed with Valcor for the subject solenoid valves for use in safety related systems.
We have reviewed all other vendor information available and have determined that these valves are not being supplied as a part of a skid or a subassembly.
If we become aware of the existance of these valves at a future time, we will take appropriate action as described by this Bulletin If you have any questions on this subject, please contact our staff.
CP&L plans no further response to this bulletin.
