Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
As requested in IE Bulletin 80-20, Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) has reviewed the design of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) with regard to the use of Westinghouse Type W-2 control switches with spring return to neutral.
CP&L has determined that the subject switches are not used in safety-related applications at the SHNPP.
If you have any questions on this subject, please contact our staff.
CP&L plans no further response to this bulletin.
