Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) has determined that the Namco Model EA180 limit switches identified in the subject IE Bulletin are not used in safety-related equipment provided by our NSSS vendor (Westinghouse) for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP).
- However, due to the time required for equipment vendors to respond, we have not yet completed our investigation of the use of these switches in non-NSSS equipment.
We will inform you when this investigation is completed and identify our plans for completing any required corrective action.
