Carolina Power

& Light Company (CP&L) responded to IE Bulletin 79-02, Revision 1, on July 6, 1979.

The information and cottmd.tments provided at that time are applicable to the requirements of IE Bulletin 79-02, Revision 2, items 1

through 4.

Concerning the additional requirements of IE Bulletin 79-02, Revision 2, the following commitments are provided:

1.

CP&L'as not used and does not intend to use concrete expansion bolts in concrete block walls to support Seismic Category I piping at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP).

2.

CP&L has not used and does not intend to use concrete expansion bolts without base plates to support Seismic Category I piping at the SHNPP.
