Dear Mr.'hornburg:

In response to IE Bulletin 79-15, Carolina Power

& Light Company (CP&L) has investigated the use at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) of deep draft pumps similar to those described in the bulletin.

Our investigation indicates the only similar pumps that will be installed for safety related application in SHNPP are the Emergency Service Water Pumps.

The following information on these pumps is provided in accordance with the Bulletin:
