20555 SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1, 2, 3, AND 4 DOCKET NOS. 50-400, 50-401, 50-402, AND 50-403 IN-PLACE TEST FILL PROGRAM
Dear Mr. Denton:
During the Construction Permit review for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP), Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) committed to provide the results of the in-place test fillprogram to the NRC for review and approval prior to beginning construction of SHNPP's main and auxiliary dams, as well as the separating dike.
On December 22, 1978, Carolina Power
& Light Company informed your staff by telephone that the random rockfill test fillprogram was underway and would be submitted as soon as completed.
We request that approval of the attached random rockfill test report be granted as soon as possible, but no later than February 1, 1979, so that construction of the separating dike will not be adversely impacted.
