CALVERT CLIFFS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 1 - CORRECTION TO ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT NO. 318 REGARDING TRANSITION TO A RISK-INFORMED, PERFORMANCE-BASED FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 10 CFR 50.48(c) (CAC NO. MF2993)
Dear Mr. Hanson:
By letter dated August 30, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML16175A359), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 318 to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-53 and Amendment No. 296 to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-69 for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, respectively. The amendments consisted of changes to the operating licenses and technical specifications in response to your application dated September 24, 2013, as supplemented by letters dated February 9, March 11, April 13, July 6, and August 13, 2015; and February 24 and April 22, 2016.
Attached to the letter dated August 30, 2016, were revised pages 3, 5, and 6 to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-53. A revised page 7 should have also been attached.
Enclosed is revised page 7 that was inadvertently omitted during the issuance of Amendment No. 318. Please update Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-53 with the enclosed page. Also enclosed, for clarity, is a Corrected Attachment page indicating the addition of page 7 and removal of page 8. Page 8 is no longer needed due to the shift upwards of text.

At the time of the next scheduled update to the FSAR required pursuant to 10 CFR 50.71(e)(4) following the issuance of this renewed license, Exelon Generation shall update the FSAR to include the FSAR supplement submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 54.21(d), as amended and supplemented by the program descriptions in Appendix E to the Safety Evaluation Report, NUREG-1705. Until that FSAR update is complete, Exelon Generation may make changes to the programs described in Appendix E without prior Commission approval, provided that the licensee evaluates each such change pursuant to the criteria set forth in 10 CFR 50.59 and otherwise complies with the requirements in that section.
G.
Any future actions listed in Appendix E to the Safety Evaluation Report, NUREG-1705, shall be included in the FSAR. Exelon Generation shall complete these actions by July 31, 2014, except for the volumetric inspections of the control element drive mechanisms, which must be completed no later than 2029 for Unit 1 (Appendix E, Item 65).
G.
This renewed license is effective as of the date of issuance and shall expire at midnight on July 31, 2034.
