- 1990, Ys. A. T. Boland of the Reoior, II staff conducted a review of the emergency respcrse facilities at your Shearori Harris site.
The review focused on the availability of vicrkspace arid communications fcr YRC personnel ln the everlt an Ager cy response is warranted for an incident at your site.
Facil'ity tcurs were conducted in thE Control Room, Technical Support Center, Operations Support Certer, Emergency Operations Facility, and Joint Informatiori Ceriter ir order to icentify current NRC resources as well as understand Harris fll'Ergency orgaril7atiori ard response philosophy.
Concurrently, discussioris were held with members of the Ccrporate arid site emergency planning staffs regardinr tiRC's Inciderit
Response
organization (Information tictice 86-18) and ways rf most efficiertly integratirg NRC response irito your existing emergency plans based upori your organizatiori and space ard equipment capabilities.
A summary of the mcc'.ificatins by area which would enhance YPC's ability to effectively respond to the Harris site is provided in the Enclosure.
Ycur staff indicated that iriccrporation of these items could be accommiodated.:
- however, due to the fact that the main EGF Command Room is being modified and expanded in the rear future, it v;as agreed that the recorrzendatioris for this area would be deferreC and incorporated into the nevi facility.

(This was satisfied by providirg an already existing telephone located on the BMi-11 console - F4266).

Reconfigure VRC phones such that Bach phone has ari incividual or primary extension or phone number.

During the reconstruction of the EOF Main Command Room provide space for 7-6 person in separate NRC area.
This area would then include space for the positions of Protective Measures Coordinator, Reactor Safety Coordiriatcr, Covernrrert Liaison Coordinator arid four NRC communications.
Move the Ef<S and HPN phones from the NRC Room to the new NRC area in main EOF Command Room.
Enclosure 0
Provide workspace in Dose Assessment Room for the co-location of two NRC people (Dose Assessment Coordinator and Environmental Dose Assessment Coordinator) with one standard phone line and 1
modem line telephone for a computer.
In the NRC Room, split the two outside telephone numbers already existing into two single line sets for use with computers.
Reconfigure NRC phones such that each phone has an individual or primary extension or phone number.
