Dear Mr. Denton:

Following up on your comment, that involvement of local officials has a positive impact on the operation of nuclear power facilities, I am attempting to form a Citizen Advisory Board.

Several individuals, who are expert nuclear scientists or nuclear engineers, are supportive of this concept and are willing to serve.

I have enclosed a copy of the proposed, structure and purpose of the Board and would like your comments and suggestions. The final decision on whether or not to establish this citizens group will be made by the Council on November 20, 1986. I will appreci-ate receiving your input before then.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to meet, with us here in Raleigh.

Sincerely, Mary C. Cates Council Member jt/el2 8b1 1 190398 8b 11 18 PDQ "ADOCK 05000400 PDR OFFICES ~ 110 SOUTH McOOWELL STREET POST OFFICE SOX 600 ~ RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27602
