Dear Mr. Denton:
Carolina Power R Light Company hereby submits additional information concerning setpoints for the Power Operated Relief Valves (PORVs) at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant.
This information is submitted in response to Safety Evaluation Report (SER) Confirmatory Item No. 10.
The low temperature overpressure protection PORV setpoints provided below have been determined such that the reactor vessel's Appendix G curve willnot be exceeded.
This evaluation considers, the inadvertent actuation of a single safety injection pump or a heat input for an incorrect reactor coolant pump start assuming a 50'F temperature mismatch of the steam generator primary and secondary sides.
