Carolina Power k Light Company submits for your information and review ten (10) copies of "Change 2" to the "North Carolina Emergency Response Plan in support of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP)"

dated April 1985.

As explained in the accompanying memorandum from the Director of the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management, these pages should be substituted for pages in Revision 1 which was transmitted to you via Reference 1.

These changes are not being transmitted to the parties in the SHNPP Atomic Safety and Licensing Board hearings because it is the same information provided to them via Reference 2.

Note also that Annex 3 has been revised to reflect a number of changes associated with the recent decision to install an enhanced siren system around Harris Lake, and to place primary reliance on that enhanced system for notification of persons on the lake.
