Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In our October 31, 1980 response to RII: GFM/RLP 50-000/80-31-01, we informed you of the actions taken and planned to resolve the referenced violation concerning the use of Scotch 33 tape in safety-related applications without adequate engineering review for environmental qualification. At the time of our response, it was projected that corrective actions would be completed by January 15, 1985.
This letter is to inform you that we will require additional time to ensure the corrective actions have been adequately verified and documented.
Via Field Change Request (FCR-E-2712 Rev.
0), Harris Plant Engineering Section has identified the Containment and Main Steam Tunnel for which Scotch 33 tape, previously used in safety-related cable applications, must be removed.
Efforts to remove the tape from these applications have been completed.
V/e are now in the verification process to ensure completeness of the work and that proper documentation exists.
It is currently projected that full compliance will be achieved by February 15, 1985.
