Dear Sirs:
P It is our understanding that, although all State permits relating to nuclear plant construction are expected. to be obtained before plant construction is begun, water classifica ion requirements f'r the Shearon iiarris Plant have not yet been resolved.
In particular, we understand that:
l, The 0000 acre associated lake has not received a
water'classification.
, 2.
This lake will, when filled, back up into streams presently classif'ied as "C".
3.
In flood condition, the lake will inundate the upper reaches of'uckhorn Creek, presently classified yyg ll
'de would be interested in knowing if the above points are true, ~and, if~so, vrhether lack of action in these matters violates prope procedure in licensing and construction of nuclear plants.
Yours truly, Conservation Council of North Carolina
