SUBJECT:

RELIEF REQUEST FROM TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION INSERV ICE INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS By letter dated December 16,

1983, (L-83-591) you proposed to perform a visual (VT-2) examination of the regenerative heat exchanger, in lieu of Code required volumetric and surface examinations, to provide assurance that the required level of structural integrity has been maintained.

Therefore, we request that you submit a revised program that includes inspections in addition to, or in lieu of, the VT-2 examination.

We request that the information be provided within 60 days from receipt of this letter.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
