Docket No. 50-250, 50-251 Inservice Ins ection Exem tion Re uest Florida Power 8I Light requests on exemption from the schedular requirements of 10CFR 50.55a(g) (5) (ii) for the period of one month.

10CFR 50.55a(g)(5)(ii) requires that if a revised Inservice Inspection (ISI)

PrograII conflicts with the technical specifications for the facility, the licensee shall apply to the NRC for a technical specification amendment to conform the technical specifications to the revised prograII.

The anendment request is required to be submitted six months prior to the start of the period during which the provisions become applicable.

Our letter, L-83-524, dated October 21, 1983, established the beginning of the second ten year interval as September 1,

1984 for both Turkey Point units.

Our original schedule was to submit the required technical specification

request, with the Second Ten Year ISI Summary by March 1, 1984 in compli ance with 10CFR 50.55a(g)(5)(ii).

Because of recent revisions to code boundary drawings, additional time to review and incorporate these changes is rgquired prior to submittal of the revised progran.

In order to incorporate these changes and additional revisions to the inservice testing technical specifications, we will not be able to submit the revised prograII and associ ated technical specification anendment request until April 1, 1984.

This delay will not affect the implementation of the new ISI program which is still scheduled for the beginning of the second ten year interval on September 1, 1984.
