Transmittal of these procedures was required by the November 22, 1983 NRC Safety Evaluation Report (SER) on our alternate safe shutdown methodology.
In addition to these procedures, the Technical Specifications (T/Ss) for alternate safe shutdown were required to be submitted.
These T/Ss were the subject of our letter AEP:NRC:0692AJ, dated May 30, 1986.
As discussed with your staff, we are transmitting only the Unit 1 procedures at this time.
The procedures for Unit 2 are basically the same, except for unit-specific differences.
Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 170.12(c),
an application fee of
$150.00 has been enclosed.
