MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES JANUARY 1996 HIGHLIGHTS The unit entered this reporting period in Mode 1 at 100%

RTP.

Reactor power was decreased to 92%

RTP January 19, 1996 at 2123 to conduct Main Turbine control valve testing.

Reactor power was stabilized at 100% January 20, 1996 at 0230.

The unit exited this reporting period in Mode 1 at 100%

RTP.

There were no challenges to the pressurizer safety valves or power operated relief valves.

Gross electrical generation for the month of January was 798430 MWH.
