Dear Mr. Levine:
On~September 11, 1997, Arizona Public Service Company notified the NRC of a typographical error contained in an NRC safety evaluation issued on May 23, 1996'n support of a Technical Specification amendment to increase the authorized rated thermal power for Palo Verde Units 1.
2 and 3.
Specifically, in Section 3. 1.2 of the safety evaluation (Small-Break LOCA), the staff stated
"... the licensee concluded that the 0.05 ft'reak size with a peak cladding temperature of 1970 'F was the limiting SBLOCA break size."
The peak cladding temperature of 1970 'F should have been 1907 F.
A copy of the corrected page for the safety evaluation is attached.
