f The proposed change reflects changes made to piping systems at. Ginna as a result of recent analyses.
One hydraulic shock suppressor was added to the steam supply piping for the turbine driven auxiliary feedwater pump.
Eight hydraulic shock suppressors were added to the pressurizer safe ty and relief piping.
As a result of our seismic upgrade
- program, four existing hydraulic shock suppressors are being replaced with mechanical units.
The seismic upgrade program has been described in previous letters to the URC.
Decause of the changes which will result from our seismic upgrade
- program, the footnote to Table 3.13-1 deal.ing with snubber addition has been revised to permit removal of snubbers without prior license amendment.
Such a change is necessary in order to permit timely implementation of the seismic upgrade program.
Changes would only be made following appropriate analysis.
Changes to the Technical Specification requirements for snubbers were requested by letter dated starch 23, 1981 from Darrell Eisenhut.
A separate change request will be prepared which responds to the request.
