Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-528I529 Revisions to Units 1 and 2 Core Operating Limits Reports File: 94-005-41 9.05 Pursuant to PVNGS Units 1 and 2 Technical Specification 6.9.1.10, enclosed are Revision 1 replacement pages to the Unit1 Cycle 5 Core Operating Limits Report (COLR) and Revision 2 replacement pages to the Unit 2 Cycle 5 COLR. These revisions were effective on May 18, 1994.
Copies of this submittal with revised COLR pages are being forwarded by copy of this letter to the NRC Region IVAdministrator, the Region IV Walnut Creek Field Office, and the Resident Inspector.
The enclosed revised COLR pages were changed to ensure that COLR requirements reflect safety analysis assumptions.
The change to'COLR Page 10 (COLR Figure 2) is adjusting the maximum upper moderator temperature coefficient (MTC) limit curve downward, which is more restrictive.
The change to COLR Page 24 (COLR Table 5) adds an additional, more restrictive, boron dilution detection monitoring frequency when the plant is in mode 6 with less than 4000 ppm boron concentration.
The deviations between the COLR and the safety analysis assumptions that existed prior to these COLR changes will be addressed in future communications with the NRC.
