REPORT

50-529/93-13
This refers to a routine announced
inspection
conducted
by Hr. H. Hodes of
Region
1,
and his staff, during the period of April 19 through 30,
1993.
The
inspection
covered activities authorized
by
NRC License
Number NPF-51.
On
April 29, the inspectors
discussed
the inspection findings with members of
your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the report.
Within
these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures
and representative
records;
interviews with personnel,
and observation's
by the
inspectors.
Based
on the results of the inspection,
one of your activities appeared
to be
in violation of NRC requi rements,
as specified in the enclosed
Notice of
Violation (Notice) .
The violation involved failure of your Inservice
Inspection (ISI) examination
personnel
to identify during an ISI examination
that a mechanical
shock suppressor
had
a loose nut.
You are required to respond to this letter and should follow the instructions
specified in the enclosed
Notice when preparing your response.
In your
response,
you should
document the specific action taken
and any additional
actions
you plan to prevent recurrence.
After reviewing your response
to this
Notice, including your proposed corrective actions
and the results of future
inspections,
the
NRC will determine
whether further
NRC enforcement action is
necessary
to ensure
compliance with NRC regulatory requirements.
The responses
directed
by this letter
and the enclosed
Notice are not subject
to the clearance
procedures
of the Office of Hanagement
and Budget
as required
by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980,
Pub.
L. No.96-511.
In accordance

CFR 2.790 of the NRC's,
"Rules of Practice,"
