Transmittal of Operator License Certificates
Dear Mr. Firth:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission considers licensed Reactor Operators and Senior Reactor Operators to be a vital factor in the protection of the health and safety of the public.
They are also, of cour se, a vital factor in preventing damage to your facility.
In recogni tion of the important role licensed operators fulfill in protecting the public, the Commission has directed that a certificate suitable for framing be issued to each such operator.
In response to this Commission direction,,it is my pleasure to forward to you for presentation, certificates for Larry D. Burton, Richard V. Byers, Alan H. Hagemeyer, Thomas F. Mayfield, Michael A. Sanchez, David R. Wright, Bernard J.
Per rott, and Bruce J.
Rash.
Also enclosed is a license for Michael Colvin which can be presented to Mr. Colvin in lieu of a certificate.
We will send Mr. Colvin's certificate as soon as it is received.
It is noted that only one Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator certificate will be issued to an individual. It is also noted that the certificate is a recognition of achievement, not a license.
Accordingly, present requirements relating to issuance and renewal of licenses remain unchanged, and the actual license or renewal authority will be issued as a
letter.
The Chairman, Dr. Murley and Mr. Martin request that you offer their personal congratulations to each of the recipients of these certificates.
